Mark’s work is a reaction to history as a hauntology of place which comes about because of the absence of voice.
From documenting abandoned houses in Norway, to sound recordings of the lost industry of the Ruhr Valley, to the conflicted narratives of the burning of his home town during the War of Independence; collecting and documenting becomes a source for film work, paintings, installations, sculpture, wallpaintings, dresses.
He uses technology to mediate sources resulting in a fragmented form.
